These Chic Interiors Will Have You Totally Crushing on Blush.
My infinite curiosity for the art of interior design has deepened in the last few years. I have always appreciated beautiful interiors and exteriors when I see them, but now I find myself hungry for any and all inspiration that can help me creatively and iconically reflect Dan’s and my personalities throughout the spaces in our bungalow. Of course, out of consideration for my husband, there are some design choices that I make more subtly than I would if I were still single, especially because Dan is naturally drawn to neutral interiors.
Don’t let the word neutral fool you into thinking black white and grey, though. Neutrals can still be colorful, and this season they’re saying that in fashion and design, “blush is the new black.” How apropos, given my recent decision to brand myself blush. In recent years, I’ve battled with the fact that I’ve always been drawn to pink. It was my favorite color growing up; my bedroom decor and everything in my closet was practically bathed in it. Except the shades were usually hot, neon, and bright. As time has passed and I’ve become more drawn to white, tan, gold, and black, I have strived to be more sophisticated in my design choices as I style our first home.
The more interiors I see, however, the more I realize I gave up a little bit of my personality in white-washing our house. Through a lot of time on Pinterest and other home design print and digital publications, I have been able to reconnect with my love of color by learning that if you dial down the tones of these colors, they can be considered neutral and soft. These 9 rooms found in my search for blush-piration have me completely rethinking how I can incorporate the timeless shade into other rooms in our house than just my office space.
