Life has been hectic lately. It has also been very exciting. The latest Morrison milestone to share is that we have purchased and moved into our first home! Somehow I found a remodeled 1920’s bungalow the day it went on the market in the perfect area of town that was exactly our style. It was a lengthy negotiation process that was not at all easy. It took weeks to close the deal, but now we are here and the pains of packing, moving, unpacking, and kissing The Pearl goodbye are history. We are in love with our new home.
Managing all of this with work was challenging at times–it has been quite the year for both of us! Now that we are settled in to The Morrison Bungalow, we are taking some time to focus on enjoying our new spaces and creating wellness together at home. To put our pact to practice, we collaborated with Blue Star Coloring for this post. Their mission is to share the love of coloring with the world, and have a great time doing it. They believe in celebrating the artist within by creating stress-relieving coloring books for adults. They sent us some wellness goodies to enjoy at home, and lots of coloring books to get started on. I had the best time unplugging and coloring for a bit in our guest room. I was amazed by how much my mind opened up and my ideas started to flow once I put the pencils to paper.
As far as the goodies…the Voluspa candle smells amazing. For those of you fellow candle lovers, the Pink Citron scent is one I could burn all day. I take it back and forth between the bathroom and the living room. Dr. Bronner’s pure-castile bar soaps are freshly scented and are a luxurious addition to our vintage claw-foot tub and standing glass shower. Burt’s Bees Hand Salve is a great soothing solution for dry hands, and I love the way anything made by Burt’s Bees smells. KIND Bars are a favorite snack of mine (I only eat the bars with 5g of sugar or less) and I always keep a few in the kitchen pantry to grab when I know I am going to be out running errands for hours. Finally, a wellness package wouldn’t be complete without hot tea. English Tea Shop’s Ginger Honey tea is perfect for snuggling on the couch with a blanket and a book.
My favorite coloring book I’ve started so far is Fashion Forward by artist Minjee Kang. I highly recommend Blue Star Coloring books for anyone working on unplugging from your devices and recharging your creativity for a little while.
