Well, it is official…we are married!! Dan and I became Mr. and Mrs. Morrison on Saturday March 5th, 2016 at 7:25pm.
From Mid-January to March 5th was a complete whirlwind of remaining appointments, errands, and to-do’s that felt as though every second outside of our working hours was spent on upholding our end of the wedding weekend task list.
That being said, however, I don’t even know how to thank my parents enough for, despite their busy careers, doing literally everything for this wedding, and Dan’s parents for, despite their busy schedules and living in Chicago, doing everything for our rehearsal dinner. All Dan and I had to do was make ourselves and our wedding party look the best possible and be where we needed to be on time. That plus work was something that felt insurmountable to us during many days over the last 2.5 months.
After experiencing 3 frightening and hysterical panic attacks while driving my car to work in January, I knew I had to find a way to pull it together and make it to March 5th in one piece. In order to keep myself from anywhere near the verge of a mental breakdown due to the stress of juggling all of the things, I had to be okay with allowing myself to prioritize the wedding, enjoy the process when I could, and let my hobbies take a back seat until life resumed after the festivities.
We made it through the 2.5 months, we experienced the most special weekend of our lives, we enjoyed our incredible honeymoon, we have settled back into work (not easy), and we have incorporated almost all of our wedding gifts into our home. With some room to breathe and a little more time to spare, I am happy to be spending Easter weekend jumping back into the blog-o-sphere as Mrs. Ellie Leeper Morrison! [Yes…it does feel weird to say that. But a wonderful kind of weird!]
I am very excited to retroactively recount our event planning process and share many a wedding detail on the blog. Here are the upcoming wedding-related posts to look out for in the coming weeks. We hope you check back in as we release new articles!
