Life has been equal parts exciting, busy, and stressful lately. We are experiencing our first major life event as a married couple, and we can’t wait to blog about it once it’s all official. We made it a point to do something both exploratory and relaxing this weekend, in an effort to practice wellness together and enjoy the downtown neighborhood we live in. We had so much fun this morning that we wanted to post our photos and share our Sunday adventure right away.
We rented two Bcycles and rode them from The Pearl down the beautiful Riverwalk to The Tobin Center for a 10am “Broga” class, part of The Tobin Center’s “Fitness on the Plaza” series. Joy Ride cycle studio hosted the class on The Tobin Center’s Riverwalk Plaza under the swaying palm trees and cool morning breeze. This was our first yoga class we took together, and it was so much fun to sweat, suffer a little, and then relax side by side.
After class we checked our Bcycles back out at Hotel Havana’s station next door to The Tobin Center and pedaled up St. Mary’s on street level to Paramour rooftop bar, which is one of the coolest places in San Antonio to grab a coffee or a cocktail. The views of downtown are unparalleled, and the vibe is eclectically trendy without trying too hard to be cool. We took in the view for a few minutes, and after we finished our latte we continued our pedal up St. Mary’s Street back to The Pearl. We checked our Bcycles back in at the station under our building, surrounded by people, dogs, strollers, and all of the other Sunday Farmer’s Market activity.
Our preferred taco vendor wasn’t at the market today, so we grabbed Pudge and ordered gourmet sandwiches from Larder at Hotel Emma. We shared a salmon bagel sandwich and a duck confit sandwich, washed down by two Topo Chico’s, while we sat at an outdoor cafe table watching the world go by. Right now we are sitting on our balcony, looking down at Larder, blogging about it. Life in San Antonio is real’ good, y’all.
Until next time!
