For my fellow eco-conscious readers who prefer to keep things you buy for your house and put in/on your body as natural as possible, there is a new fragrance line made in Austin, TX that you need to try. It’s called Phlur.
We’re here to create sustainable, stunning fragrances that transform everyday moments into memories. Designed with select perfumers, our products were created without the typical constraints of time, cost, and creativity. And we’re proud of that. -phlur.com
They create sustainable, stunning fragrances that transform everyday moments into memories. This fragrance line gets me. Since I changed my lifestyle, I have been consciously committed to living in the moment and being aware enough to use my senses to observe what’s around me, so that I can keep everyday moments in my memory.
I never wear perfume. Ever. Mainly because I can’t stand walking into a store and feeling swallowed by a hazy headache-triggering fog of sweetly smelling products being cheaply mass-marketed to girly girls who just want to attract boyish boys. I don’t put extra sugar and bad chemicals inside of my body, and I also don’t want to spritz them all over my skin.
Phlur recently contacted me to announce their new company, and offered to send me a sample set of scents to try. I went to their website not sure what to expect, and I immediately connected with the brand. They make fragrances centered around the idea of pairing personality with experience. Through the use of creative language, descriptive product labeling, modern design, a clean color palette, and the comfort of choosing a fragrance in my bathrobe, they had me at the home page.
Based on the product descriptions, I chose Hanami and Olmsted & Vaux for my sample set. Because LBH (let’s be honest)…I want to be as trendy and professional as the girl in the Hanami product photos, and I think Dan is the handsome, strong and charming guy in the Olmsted & Vaux product photos. 😉 This is the magic of marketing, folks. But really though…in all seriousness, go to their website and read these product descriptions. The storytelling behind each product, although there are only six, present trendy, compelling, and sustainable narratives that you’re sure to connect with.
The pièces de résistance? Phlur believes in supporting initiatives that have a lasting impact on people’s lives. They give $5 from every bottle sold to a cause they have faith in, such as the Central Park Conservancy and the IUCN red list.
[Hey Phlur! While you’re at it, there’s an amazing organization changing people’s lives every day in San Antonio called the Children’s Rehabilitation Institute. I work there. Let’s partner up to give kids a better future.]
