This summer, my mother and her two younger sisters hosted a bridal shower for me at my grandparents’ home in Connecticut. Lady family members traveled from near and far to be a part of yet another cherished gathering I will remember forever.
I couldn’t be more fortunate to have an extremely supportive female familial network in my life. My grandmother, mother, aunts, and cousins take it upon themselves to celebrate every significant life milestone, making everyone feel so special.
One of my favorite details of the event was the table décor. This is something my Mom is amazing at—gathering items from around the house and assembling a perfectly appointed table. For the final touch, she had these adorable treats made in San Antonio at Lily’s Cookies. She loves to order personalized party favors here.
My youngest Aunt is a Pediatrician…but her baking skills could give Martha Stewart a run for her money any day. She was in charge of my cake. Look at the floral gum paste detail that she made by hand!
It was so special to have Dan’s mother there too. She flew from Chicago to meet my extended family and be a part of the festivities. I am gaining the most wonderful second mother with this marriage, and I couldn’t be more grateful to have her in my life!
All in all, it was a beautiful kickoff event to the next 7 months of celebrations ahead. Before we know it, everyone will be here in San Antonio for the big day next spring!
